The International Accrediting Council for TESOL Training Programs

Our Mission

Welcome to the International Accrediting Council for TESOL Training Programs. We have made it our mission to provide standards of quality in TESOL training, and to accredit those institutions worldwide that follow these standards. There are three basic requirements we insist on from every TESOL-training institution we accredit:

1. A high-quality syllabus for all courses taught;
2. Instructors with appropriate education for the courses they teach;
3. Adequate response time and content to student inquiries.

If a TESOL-training program offers these three basic services, we will accredit that institution for a period of three years. Each accredited institution is required to renew their accreditation after three years to ensure continual high quality. Institutions failing to meet our criteria at any time are dropped from the accredited list, and must re-apply and meet the standards before being added again to our list.
